The church was built at the end of the 17th century, in the Baroque period; because of its ruinous state, its structure was altered in the mid-19th century. As a result, both the interior (main chapel and sacristy) and the outer walls, including the façade and bell gable, follow historicist principles, with the plain, simplified forms we see today.
