In the north of the municipality, on the border with Touro. Its very fertile land is used for pasture and farming. Its 100 inhabitants live on 4.80 km2 in seven settlements: Casalpeguito, A Eirexe, Gastrar, Reguengo, Trión, Vilaboa and Xiadás. An ancient Roman road from Bracara Augusta (Braga) to Lucus Augusti (Lugo) crossed its hills; important remains survive of this road, recorded in the Antonine Itinerary.

Parish church of Santa Mariña de Gastrar

The first documented references to this single-nave church date from the first half of the 18th century. After successive alterations, the building we see today is 19th-century, with clearly historicist features that transformed it completely, from the choir, triumphal arch, presbytery vault, walls and bell gable inside to the plain exterior façade, without classical orders and with a classical pediment.

Altarpieces: main altarpiece.
· Statues: Sacred Heart of Jesus, Santa Mariña, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St Anthony of Padua, St Lucy, Our Lady of the Rosary, Immaculate Conception and Christ crucified.

Vistas en Gastrar

An Iron Age fortified settlement with burial mounds (mámoas) nearby. Recently restored, with a thorough clearing of the scrub that covered it completely, its different levels and parts can now be clearly seen on the ground.
