The Roman road recorded in the Antonine Itinerary crossed this parish, linking Bracara Augusta (Braga) with Asturica Augusta (Astorga) through the ancient city of Lucus Augusti (Lugo).
Parish church of Santa María de Lamas

Begun in the 18th century, it is a fine example of Galician Baroque. Its architects and master builders used the most characteristic materials and features of the style throughout the different stages of construction. Little remains of the building of 1716–1718: in the 1770s, when the main chapel was remodelled, the original walls had to be raised and the sacristy was built at the same time. This is the interior we see today. The last part of the church dates from 19th-century alterations, when the façade was built, enriching the building with pilasters decorated with panels and pinnacles that lighten the walls. The paintings on the vaults and dome, and the tower, follow a type common in the first half of the century, modelled on Baroque bell towers.
· Altarpieces: main altarpiece, altarpiece of the Holy Christ and altarpiece of Our Lady of the Purification.
· Statues: St Benedict, St Scholastica, San Roque, Assumption of Mary, St Joseph, Holy Christ, Our Lady of Sorrows, St John, Jesus crucified and the Immaculate Conception.
Lamas wayside cross

Dating from the 19th century, it has a square platform and a cubic pedestal with finials, a round shaft with spiralling plant decoration, a cylindrical capital with volutes and figures on all four sides, and a round cross with Christ crucified on the front and the Pietà on the back. All carved in granite.
Casa Grande de Lamas (manor house)
Close to the parish church, it once belonged to the Crespo family. Recently renovated, it keeps its modernist style, with a central block and two cube-shaped side wings. A large hórreo and the dovecote survive.
